It is a very simple task in order to achieve a Glow on a lamp using 3D Studio Max. No plugins required..just simple material editor work and you are done getting a nice Glow. This is just a basic sample for lighting the lamp without any videopost work involved.
Below are the Material editor Properties that were set for the render that you see. Please remember to apply Cylindrical Mapping Or Sperical according to your needs to your object for the Radial Gradient Ramp applied to the object.
